What must you do before taking delivery of a firearm from a dealer?

Perform a safe handling demonstration in the presence of a DOJ Certified Instructor
Prior to taking delivery of a firearm, you must successfully perform a safe handling demonstration with the firearm being purchased or acquired, in the presence of a DOJ Certified Instructor, sometime between the date the DROS is submitted and delivery.

- Complete a live-fire proficiency test at a range supervised by a DOJ Certified Instructor
- Register the firearm with the local sheriff or police chief within 10 days of purchase
- Pass a second written test on firearms laws given by the licensed firearms dealer
