What it is
A night-scene quiz for boaters: the app draws a vessel's navigation lights on dark water, you identify what she is and which way she's pointing, and every answer comes back graded with the rule that explains it.
Why we built it
Identifying vessels by their lights is on every boating exam — state licenses, USCG OUPV/Master, sailing certifications — and it's a genuine watchkeeping skill. Study options are mostly static flashcards and rule-book diagrams. Nothing drilled the actual task: looking at a light pattern from an arbitrary bearing and naming the vessel. Nav Lights renders that exact experience and grades it against the rules.
