METAR Practice
In the workshopDecode raw aviation reports
Store name: “METAR Practice: Read Weather”
What it is
A practice drill for reading raw aviation weather reports. It prints a realistic coded METAR strip, asks one targeted question — wind, ceiling, visibility, flight category — grades you instantly, then decodes the whole report token by token.
Why we built it
Every student pilot has to decode METARs on the written exam and the checkride, but the study options are static flashcard decks and stale question banks. Nothing generated fresh, exam-realistic strips and tracked which element — ceilings, fractions, altimeter settings — was actually costing points. This drills the skill directly, including the classic scattered-layer ceiling trap, on purpose.

Every app on the shelf started as one honest problem, scoped small and built native, end to end. That’s exactly how we approach client work — designed, built and shipped, without the bloat.
