Once a Texas insurer notifies the claimant that a claim is accepted, it must pay the claim not later than:

The 5th business day after notice

If the insurer notifies the claimant it will pay a claim, 'the insurer shall pay the claim not later than the fifth business day after the date notice is made.' (An eligible surplus lines insurer has 20 business days.)

Not the answer

  • The 60th calendar day after that notice is given
  • The same day the acceptance notice is given
  • The 30th day after the notice of acceptance
