Dwelling Policies

Which statement about DWELLING policies is correct?

Answer

The building does not have to be occupied by the owner, and it may even be under construction

Wisconsin's regulator: 'To qualify for dwelling insurance, a building does not have to be occupied by the owner, and it may even be under construction.' Dwelling policies are 'commonly used to insure seasonal homes unoccupied for portions of the year', and can also fit homes with up to five boarders and four-unit apartment buildings. 'The dwelling policy only provides property coverage… It does not provide liability coverage.'
